1. No purchase is necessary to enter or
win.
2. The contest is open to legal United States residents under 13 years of
age.
3. The child must
live within the South Florida area; Miami Dade, Broward and Palm Beach
Counties.
4. Unless otherwise stated, each
contest begins at 12:01 pm EST on the first day of each of 8 weeks
beginning July 7, 2008, and ends at 11:59 pm EST on the last day of the
same week.
5. The contest is offered only electronically via the Internet (or is
offered only by submitting the required information by U.S. mail).
6. Employees, officers and
directors of WLYF Radio, CBS Channel 4, The Miami Herald, Discovery
Management, Inc. and Backus Turner & Partners, Inc., their parent
companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising promotion, and
fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, their immediate family members
and persons living in the same household (collectively, the “Sponsors”),
are not eligible to participate in the contest.
7. The contest is void where prohibited, and all federal, state and local
laws and regulations apply.
8. An adult may
enter a child in the contest either by submitting the required
information together with the contestant’s name, address and telephone
number via email to

or by legibly
hand-printing on a 3” x 5” card the required information together with
the contestant’s name, address and telephone number and mailing the
entry to:

9. The required information is as follows: each participating child must
have verifiable accomplishments in one or more of the following areas:
*School grades
*School activities such as clubs, sports and cultural pursuits
*Community involvement
*Memberships in civic or social clubs or organizations
*Involvement with family
*Awards and recognitions
*Church Involvement
10. The parents, parent or guardian of the child must state that he/she
has never been suspended from school or arrested by the police.
11. All entries become the exclusive property of the Sponsors and will
not be acknowledged or returned.
12. The number and value of each week’s contest is as follows:
Round-Trip cruise on Discovery and a 3 day / 2 night stay at the Pelican
Bay Resort at Lucaya, Grand Bahama Island for two adults with two children valued at $895.
No alternative prize, cash equivalent or other substitution is
permitted except by the Sponsors in the event of prize unavailability.
Prizes must be claimed within 15 days and are non-transferable/saleable.
Prize redemption is the sole responsibility of the winner. All federal,
state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.
13. Winners will be determined by a panel designated by the Sponsors.
All decisions are final and binding. The winners will be notified by
regular mail on or about 10 days after the end of each contest. The
Sponsors are not responsible for and shall not be liable for late, lost,
misdirected or unsuccessful efforts to notify a winner.
14. By entering participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules
and agree to release and hold the Sponsors, their employees, officers,
directors, shareholders, agents and representatives harmless from any and
all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection
with the contest or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of
any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and
property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation or
invasion of privacy.
15. By accepting and/or using a prize, the winner agrees to the use of
his/her name, voices, or likeness for the purpose of advertising, trade or
promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. If a
selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim a
prize, or fails to timely return the completed and executed affidavit and
releases as required, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner
will be selected.
