DISCOVERY CRUISE
LINE ANNOUNCES NEW RATE STRUCTURE
Food is now
included in all fare categories
Miami, Fl---Discovery
Cruise Line, the largest tour operator for
Grand Bahama
Island carrying nearly 200,000 passengers a year between South Florida and
Grand Bahama, announced today that because of the public’s demand to revert to
the inclusion of meals in the price of the cruise, it has dropped its Coach fare
and is re-structuring its fare categories to abandon the Coach fare and include
only Standard, Grand Bahama Grill, and Discovery Plus fares.
According to Hanns J. Hahn, General Manager of Discovery, “There was
overwhelming demand by the public for the return to the inclusion of food in the
ticket price because excellent food is something Discovery has been known for
during its twenty years of operation.”
Under the new structure, which is effective for cruises departing on and after
October 17, 2007, the price of a roundtrip (same day return) Fun Day cruise,
including three all-you-can-eat buffet meals on the roundtrip cruise, will be
from $99.99 per person and at present also includes a free tropical drink and
match play at the Isle of Capri Casino on Grand Bahama.
An upgrade to the Grand Bahama Grill level for only $29 additional includes a
champagne breakfast and seven-course gourmet dining in the a-la-carte restaurant
onboard.
Discovery Plus service, offered with Cruise ’N Stay Resort Packages only,
includes priority embarkation and debarkation, a private lounge on board,
transfers on island, a champagne breakfast, a buffet lunch on the trip to Grand
Bahama, and gourmet dining in the Grand Bahama Grill on the return cruise, and
is available for only $45 in addition to the cruise.
The champagne breakfast is available by itself for $7 per person.
Prices may be higher on weekends and holidays. Additional fees and surcharges
include a $39 per person Bahamas departure and harbor fees and fuel surcharge
($26 for kids under 6) and a $10 security and U.S. Customs & Border Protection
user fee.
